The thought that a small store--or any store--in nyc could be trusted to pick up the phone, much less give one an accurate idea of what's in stock, is dear. Not to knock ny'ers, but whoa, to have people searching the barbeque sauce section while I'm on hold, if they'd even do it for a caller...no, i'm just not meant for the mobile era. Though I did call an electronics store to see if they had a particular a/c in stock when mine broke during the heat wave. They said they did. I went there, and they didn't, "though we have 3,000 coming in...sometime next week." ahhhhhh! Yes, the visit with your mother was excellent.
